Everyone wants happiness and fulfillment, but sometimes these things can feel out of reach. It’s normal to have internal conflict between your thoughts and your emotions, and sometimes it’s difficult to know which should take precedence. Even if you do know what changes you’d like to make, you may have great difficulty implementing them. Those are the times you find yourself engaging in behaviors or patterns you know aren’t the best; arguing with your partner, engaging in addictive behavior, yelling at your kids, obsessing, worrying, or avoiding important tasks or people.
If you decide to begin therapy, you will be doing so at a very exciting time in the evolution of the field. Scientific research is leading us to a better understanding of the interplay between human physiology, family and relationships systems and emotional functioning than has previously been available. I use Bowen Family Systems Theory as a way to translate this knowledge into helpful coaching for clients. I will work beside you to develop effective coping strategies to improve your quality of life, increase your ability to reach your personal goals, and help you to have more successful and fulfilling relationships with important others.
